The South Branch YMCA was started to extent the services of the YMCA to the people residing in the southern area of the Cochin city . The growth of the city and the demand for hostel admission made to put up a new branch with hostel facilities  at Kadavanthara in 1990. The Work among students was one of our important activities from the very beginning. The Branch gives much importance for mental, spiritual and physical development of students and youth. Now the branch is a centre for the student and youth activities of the Ernakulam YMCA.

Branch YMCA provides clean and healthy accommodation to students and young working adults. A hostel, library, Restaurant, indoor Stadium,  outdoor games and other programs form part of the South Branch YMCA Activities. We started a musical
academy to bring out the talents of the young people.

Hostel

Admission Procedure

Register your name by paying a fee of Rs. 300/- in each room category. For registering your name, you have to bring an introduction letter from a person known to the YMCA other than the members of the hostel, preferably a senior member of the Association. The applicants should be ready to abide and obey the YMCA hostel rules. Accommodation will be given according to priority of registration. Registration will be valid only for six months period. Those who do not renew every six months will loose their priority. The registration fee will not be refunded. If the YMCA offers accommodation and the person fails to avail the offer in time, the registration will be cancelled. The hostel charges in force are as follows subject to revision whenever deemed necessary.
The Branch Managing Committee has got the right to reject any registration without assigning any reason.
Personal Interview will be conducted by the General Secretary and admission given only on the basis of  recommendation.

Other Charges
An interest free deposit of Rs. 2500/- for Double Room Category and Rs.3500/- for Single Room Category which will be refunded at the time of leaving the hostel.
Monthly Library Subriciptions of Rs.20/- per month
Membership fee Rs. 300/- per year.
Admission fee Rs. 250/- for joining the YMCA
Hostel Charges for the month, in advance.
library deposit Rs.250 /- which will be refunded at the time of leaving.
